Hello everyone and a warm welcome to Entry PART 5) for my weekly: “Fiction in A Flash Challenge 2021.” Week #44.
Today I’m featuring a contribution from Anita Dawes & Jaye Marie.
Last week I set the following Challenge:
Hello everyone and welcome to my new “Fiction in A Flash Challenge!” Each week I’ll be featuring an image and inviting you to write a Flash Fiction or Non-Fiction piece inspired by that image in any format and genre of your choosing. Maximum word count: 750 words.
Here is the image prompt and the contribution.
With the colour drained out of Times Square
The yellow cab screamed, look at me!
Make the most of it, my photo will soon be up there.
Then stand back, as Times Square comes alive.
Pushing that yellow cab into the background
No more than a tool to get from A to B
Does that sound big headed?
Go ahead, you can say it.
No matter, for I am the light…

An interesting take on the prompt, to go with the color contrast. I love it, Anita!
