Hello everyone and a warm welcome to Part 4) of the entries for my weekly: “Fiction in A Flash Challenge 2021. Week #44.
Today I’m featuring contributions from entry Part 4. By Jen Goldie.
Last week I set the following Challenge:
Hello everyone and welcome to my new “Fiction in A Flash Challenge!” Each week I’ll be featuring an image and inviting you to write a Flash Fiction or Non-Fiction piece inspired by that image in any format and genre of your choosing. Maximum word count: 750 words.
Here is the image prompt.
New York, New York – Directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Robert De Niro, Lionel Stander, Barry Primus, Georgie Auld, George Memmoli. An egotistical saxophone player and a young singer meet on V-J Day and embark upon a strained and rocky romance, even as their careers begin a long uphill climb.
Although New York New York was written for Liza Minelli to sing, it was sung by Frank Sinatra and other Artists.
The prompt photo features Time Square.
The reality is this video of Times Square April 2021. Hopefully by next year she’ll be back to her old self.

Super use of the prompt, Jen. I lived in the metro area and loved it. I also had an apartment on 57th between 8th and 9th. (across the street from Le Bar Bat.) it was heaven.
