Hello everyone and a warm welcome to Part 7) of the entries for my weekly: “Fiction in A Flash Challenge 2021.” Week #39.
Today I’m featuring contributions from Karen Ingalls Entry 7).
Last week I set the following Challenge:
Hello everyone and welcome to my new “Fiction in A Flash Challenge!” Each week I’ll be featuring an image and inviting you to write a Flash Fiction or Non-Fiction piece inspired by that image in any format and genre of your choosing. Maximum word count: 750 words.
Here is the image prompt and Karen’s contribution.
LIFE IS LIKE A FERRIS WHEEL
AGE
IS JUST
A SIMPLE NUMBER
THAT EACH YEAR INCREASES
NO MATTER WHAT I DO
THE SKIN THINS AND WRINKLES APPEAR
BUT THE LIGHTS OF MY BEING GLOW
MAKING MY LIFE LIKE THE TURNING FERRIS WHEEL
EACH DAY SPINNING INTO THE NEXT ONE
ONLY STOPPING TO SAY HELLO, FAREWELL
TO PEOPLE JOINING OR LEAVING
MY WHEEL OF LIFE
FOR EIGHTY YEARS,
WHAT A
RIDE

I wish more people would accept that age is just a number. Their lives would open up to new adventures and beautiful insight into the wonders of each day.
