Hello everyone and welcome to my new “Fiction in A Flash Challenge!” Each week I’ll be featuring an image and inviting you to write a Flash Fiction or Non-Fiction piece inspired by that image in any format and genre of your choosing. Maximum word count: 750 words.
Here is the image prompt and the contribution.
Now here’s one wish I would love granted,
Turn back time,
let me join the flower power that passed me by
Let me ride the love train,
until the stars appear to lead the way
Ban the bomb. If only?
For a moment, love around the world held us in its grip,
Before going south, the way of so many good ideas
That little VW was never wasted.
I feel some of those sweet souls that drove in it.
They left a lot of love and smiles behind them.
We need their like to drive by once more,
To light the world with love and laughter
Shield us from the crazy world we live in,
If only for a moment…

As a teenager I always wished I could have been part of the Flower Power movement. This takes me right back to that time. Let’s hope the VW camper van never changes

I grew up in Sydney in the sixties. We still see painted vans of the era occasionally and they always make me smile.😊

I was a young mother during the 60s, love power, and crazy painted vans. Too many drugs and free sex were part of the movement also. Let’s just bring back the love.
I loved your poem, Anita, and my favorite sentence in your is “To light the world with love and laughter.” That is what the world needs now.
