What do you bring to a pity-party? Aka “Uh-oh, she’s back.” #RRBC #RWISA

This is your official invitation to the pity-party I’m having, right here and right now!

I’m home again after another sixteen day stay in hospital. That makes four long stays in Hospital this year. I’m pleased to be home again.  I’ve been scrambling around my head trying to find a way to ease myself back into my online world. I’ve been absent (Again) for a few weeks, and yesterday I discovered myself settling into self-pity mode.  That’s never a good look. So I decided to just throw a pity-party and get myself the hell over it. Groan. So let’s get this party started.

Cue intro music,  “Another one Bites The Dust,” by Queen and drape the party-scene in colors of purple and blue.

Menu; Serve Cold. Smörgåsbord

Pity Pork Pie.

The Coldest Cuts possible.

Helpless Hash Browns.

Morose Meringue

Sides available.

A We all know what realy happened to ‘Caesar’ Salad and a platter of Overwhelmed Artichokes.

Depressed Dijon Mustard.

Bar service: Help yourself to your favorite poison, if you’ll pardon the expression.

Party-games.  You already know this isn’t gonna be pretty.

Russian Roulette The old fashioned way.  (I warned you)

Method:

Blend all the above, and place 911 on auto-redial.

I’m working on my way out of a downward mood spiral, my friends, but it may take a little while longer this time around. Meanwhile I’ll start searching for things I can laugh at, and maybe laughing at myself is a good place to start.

In the interim please send a virtual kick in the butt in my direction.

Thank you all for making the time to stop by.

I’ll be catching up with you all over the next few days.

  1. I love Queen and this song, but not nearly as much as I love you, Soooz. You are a warrior woman, but even warriors need to stop and reflect once in a while. I would never dream of kicking your butt. Instead, I’m sending the BIGGEST virtual hug in your direction. Miss you, sweet lady. I hope you feel better ASAP.

    1. ❤Eden my lovely friend, where have the years disappeared to? It seems a lifetime of laughter and shared experiences ago since we last mused together about love and other bruises. I’ll accept that virtual hug and return it with pleasure. As for me being a warrior woman …lol…I always fancied myself in a black leather uniform. 😂😎

  2. Sixteen days stay is quite long and it was your fourth long stay in the hospital, sorry to hear that, Soooz. You need to recover from the hospital stay, hope you feel better very soon. I had my share so I know how it goes. Wishing you the best!

      1. My darling daughter has also been my live-in carer for a few years now. She and my beautiful seven year old grandson always give me reasons to stay positive.❤

  6. Well, you are out which is a good thing. A lot of us care about you (which is another good thing) I need to remind you that it is hard to play Russian roulette with a Glock 9mm. So put that thing down, take this margarita and slide over. It’s party time.

    1. lol … Be grateful I used Russian Roulette as the party game, amigo. I actually considered strip poker there for a while but decided I simply couldn’t do that to my sighted friends. The margarita tastes brilliant, mate.👌

  7. I say we kick butt on the pity party and turn it into a your-friends-are-all-concerned-and-wish-they-could-help-you-recovery party. Dang! Whenever you go offline for a while I worry about you. I know the hospital routine has to be getting old. Really old.I am so sorry Soooz. Even the strongest of us needs a down moment now and again. Even then you did it with humor and a toughness I envy.

I am thankful you are now at home. Please take care and do whatever the doctors tell you to recover.Sending you mega hugs!!!!

  10. Oh, Soooz. I am SO sorry that you have to struggle so hard. Humor most certainly help. That and lots of love from friends – and you have a plethora of those! Sending light and love your way and hope that today is a better day and that tomorrow outshines it! Hugs!

  11. What better way to get back into blogging than with some humor. You’re a riot. I’ve been away from blogging too, Suzanne, and it is hard to make the leap back in – so nothing strange about that. It takes a lot of energy and time and can feel overwhelming. But, what I’ve learned is that we put the pressure on ourselves. This wonderful community is welcoming of whatever (whenever) we have to give. I hope your hospital visits are over and done with. I wish you much good health and laughter.

    1. 😊Thanks, Diane. My dark humor helps me maintain my sense of balance when the real world heads into an oxygen deprived free-fall. I never have learned how to pronounce the words ‘give up’ xo

  12. So sorry to hear of your health problems Soooz. You have been through so much. Lovely though that your sense of humour is still intact despite it all. They say a problem shared is a problem halved so hoping your issues have been halved many times over. Sending you many virtual hugs across the ditch and may you be well as you look forward to spring. xoxo
